After hearing the discussions on fish limits at the general meeting the first thing is clear, We are passionate about our sport!!! I do prefer the 8 fish limit for several reasons.
(1) It suits my style of fishing, grass- which typically yields smaller fish. Fishing in close proximity of the boat docks and not making the long runs that usually wins these events. ( selfish I know but honest answer)
(2) Metro is a team format. 8 fish per team is already less than legal limit. It takes a Team to possess more than 5 fish. Member could possibly fish alone with 5 fish limit.
(3) Fish care. I am constantly checking the health of my fish,( yes both of them lol ) making sure water is cool and adding clean water when necessary, fish waste can reach toxic levels if left unchecked. I have installed the oxygen system in my boat and other members have them as well. We All care about our resource!
After reading Robs post "Where's the proof" that summed it up best for me.
Those numbers were from our watersheds and therefore are the best gauge of fishing pressure that affects us directly.
See you on the water!!!
