I've been fishing Prettyboy pretty hard for about the last month. All the way up to about the 2nd week of October it was fishing good. Then we got that heavy rain about a week before the TOC. That's where it all went downhill and got tough. We held our last Rebel Tourney this past Saturday (Nov 2). It was a really tough bite all day but especially when the wind picked up about 10am and held consistently at 15-20mph all the way to 4pm when the tourney was over. I managed to boat 12 bass, 6 keepers and get the 5 fish limit win with 8.80lbs. 2nd place was 8.30lbs. 3rd was 6.04.
With the cold weather arriving this week it should really drop the lake temps down to the mid-50s which have been holding around 60 for the last few weeks. This drop in temps should put the bladebait bite ON FIRE and should only get better as November moves into December and the reservoirs ready to close for the winter.
Don't be afraid of the cold. Get out there and fish. I have caught some MULES in the months of November and December. Unfortunately, its mostly when the weather is crappy. If you are on the lake and get the opportunity to be fishing when it is actually snowing that is a great opportunity for a TROPHY bass.
