Granted this is only one tournament and the lake water temperature was as close to ideal as we will probably ever see for a June tournament, but I was really impressed with the oxygen injection system of my livewell.
The most noticeable example was a 12" fish caught early in the morning that unfortunately got the hook in its' gill. The fish was already bleeding when it was boated. Still, by the end of the day, the fish seemed no different than the others in the livewell despite its' injury. Now I'm not going to make any long-term prognosis on its' survival, but it has been my experience that with conventional livewell systems this fish would not have survived the day in a livewell.
And there are so many other benefits of this system. There is no noise associated with this system, no pumps to break down, no worries about drawing down a battery. And according to research, it is the best thing to do for the fish!
If anyone is interested in seeing my setup, I will be happy to show you following the weigh-in of the Weekday Warrior tournament on June 28th or at the conclusion of the next regular MRAI tournament at Loch Raven in July.
