While reading the rules for the weekday warrior tournaments, I noticed that rule 16 reads as follows:
"...only one bait is allowed to be used at a time. (i.e. – no Carolina rigs with multiple baits, no drop shot rig with a jig used as the weight, etc.)"
Will this rule also be applied during the regular MRA weekend tournament series this year? Last year, I noticed a number of fishermen casting multiple rigs during tournaments, as described in rule 16.
Also, regarding the recent Elite Series practice of "Long Lining" which is to cast a crankbait, keep the reel in free-spool and drive the boat 200 or 300 yards before engaging and reeling in. Is there any consideration of this in our tournament rules? While this is technically not trolling, it is a practice that is in contradiction to the ethic that prohibits trolling. Any thoughts?
