It usually starts about I week before the tournament and right after the pre- fishing stops. Time to re spool reels, re tie baits and making sure you have all the lures you need. Then about the middle of the week the boat gets cleaned out , start making ice blocks if necessary, then check the website to see how competitors did at the last tournaments at that particular lake and where they might fish and game plan around that. The day before the tournament is usually a trip to a tackle store and leaving work early ( can't concentrate on work) this is when full Tournament Mode begins . Getting appropriate clothing ready, lunches, drinks, snacks. Finally you feel that butterfly feeling in your stomach
That won't go away until the first cast, but will return around 3:30 especially if you think you may do well. Wow it doesn't get any better then this.

Good Luck to all of the TOC
Good Luck to all of the TOC Competitors.
Bob, reading your description of "Tournament Mode", it's killing me that I'm not fishing the TOC this year. Nothing gets the fishing juices flowing like a tournament. Most of the people I talk to about tournament fishing can’t imagine the level of excitement, dedication, competitive focus, and fellowship that our tournaments inspire. I’m sure I’ll fish this weekend, but it won’t be the same as competing. Anyone who is serious about bass fishing should try fishing a tournament. It’s a great experience. MRA provides an excellent opportunity for local anglers to test their skills against some very accomplished fishermen. Again, good luck to all at the TOC, and stay safe.
