Earlier this year I posted a tip about taking extra sunglasses, hat etc. but after hearing about someone falling overboard this past weekend and with the colder water temps. I thought it would be a great idea to carry extra clothing as well , especially during the colder months. If you fish a lot by yourself such as I do this could save your life. Or maybe you will be prepared to help someone else in a emergency. Good Luck.
Bob, you really are providing life-saving advice. During the warmer months I have spare clothes in my truck, so I can get to them if I need them. When the weather gets cold, those clothes always travel with me, under the console of my boat. There is another important precaution I take in cold weather. If I am fishing alone, I don't fish from the bow platform. I move my leaning post from the bow to a seat-mount at the middle of my boat. This area is not elevated, placing my center of gravity lower. Since I use a bow-mount with a wireless remote, I can move my foot control to the center of the boat with me, where I am far less likely to fall overboard. There are a number of things that I don't like about this bow-mount motor, but it was chosen specifically to provide this safety measure.
Thanks for the great posts!
