Shippensburg university bass fishing open tourney

Hello,
I am a part of Shippensburg university and we have just started a bass fishing club to fish in the flw college tour. I fish our lakes all through out the year and have been out on the a day of your tournaments. I am also looking to join the club to fish your tourneys. I was wondering if
your club would like to do an open tourney for us over the summer to get our anglers out on different lakes for practice. Also if we could use the tournament for a club fundraiser as we are a new club and don't get much money from the school and we pay out of pocket to fish the flws. I was thinking we could do a small entry fee with half of the money
going to the winners along with a trophy that we would take care of then half going our club.

Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks. I'm glad there is

Thanks. I'm glad there is some interest in doing something for us. If you could bring it up at the meeting that would be great. If I could make it home for the meeting I would but I'm tied up with school stuff. I would be happy to help with getting the permits.

Hopefully this was brought up

Hopefully this was brought up at the meeting and there is some more interest now. Our club just got our jereseys and can't wait for the tournaments to start. If and others are willing to help that would be great

Rob brought this up today and

Rob brought this up today and it sounded like overwhelming approval. The thought was to have a WEEKDAY tournament during the year that would be open to the public. The club members could participate as well - even offering to pair up with contestants... maybe by drawing. of course you guys could participate if it worked out schedule wise. Then payouts and donations to clubs would be decided upon. we can keep you in the loop. All tournaments have to be arranged with the city of baltimore, etc. ... a lot of work goes into that but it certainly looks doable.

Go Fish Yourself! <'')))>< ...Respectfully.

Weekday Open Tournaments... A Great Idea

Craig & Rob, the Weekday Opens can be an excellent vehicle to help clubs like Shippensburg, and also a great way to foster interest in MRA and grow our roster. Offering the opportunity to fish an MRA Open tournament without committing to a full year of tournaments will make it much easier for interested anglers to check out the MRA. Once you have experienced an MRA Tournament, it's hard not to get hooked. If you need any assistance with this, feel free to contact me.

Thanks for bringing it up Rob

Thanks for bringing it up Rob and to all of you that approved. This will be a great experience for our team. A weekday will work and the idea of open to the public sounds good to me. Please keep me in the loop and I'm willing to help with whatever needs to be done with the city to make this happen.

Boats

Has anything been discussed about getting myself and the other ship college anglers on boats. I'm still not sure how many kids from the club will be fishing but will have a better idea after our final meeting.
