I have read and heard about some guys with rays running there motors up and extra 12 volts. I don't have a ray but I do have a electric outboard that runs 36 volts unfortanitily my boat is only a 14 footer and I'm in no possison to by a bigger boat. Right now it runs off 12 volt batteries because I don't think my boat can handle 6 6 volts. If any of you guys do this can point my into the right direction on how to go about it or how it works that would be great. Also if anyone runs 12volt batteries can tell me what they use and how long there boat lasts a day that would be great.
Thanks for the info. In the end it seems like its not worth it to up the voltage with the risk of harming the motor. I wish I could add 6 volt battery's but I don't think the boat could handle them. I will settle for shorter runs and shorter days then risk putting too much weight in the boat.
