Out on the lake today...
It seems that the post spawn pattern is a reverse relationship between depth and size.
I found tons 5"-7" bass playing in the shallows.
In the 5-9' depth range were the second year class bass (8"-11") and some giant blue gill.
9'-16' depth produced several 13-15" LM Bass and one SM Bass (in the shallows early and in 10' and greater after the sun was up).
17-29' produced one sm bass nearing 3# (the trophy fish of the day) plus two 11-12" sm bass.
The fish are relating to grass. There are now several types present. The fish seem to have a preference.
The action was evenly spaced throughout the morning.
I am relearning about the metro reservoirs again after a 20+ year gap. I find the seasonal patterns are changing more rapidly than I can ID and learn them....effecting my catch consistancy.
I eat breakfast with several of the MRA's. Collectively, they have so many decades of knowlege. In a perfect world...It would be great to be able to plug in and get a data dump.
