Matthew J. Frosolone of Harford County Parks and Recreation is planning to hold a Harford County Parks and Recreation Youth Fishing Derby this year, in late Spring/early Summer. The tentative date is May 27th. The event will run approximately from 8:30-11:00am at Friends Park, a small county pond with a pavilion and playground onsite.
Matt has asked Baltimore Reservoir Metro Anglers if we would like to assist and volunteer the event. Matt’s goal is to get more youth fishing and teach them the proper fundamentals, rigging, casting and “catch and release”. Matt is looking for experienced fisherman to help teach and provide assistance for the derby. My answer to Matt was a resounding yes. I look forward to helping, and I know that a number of our club members will volunteer. This blog is your official invitation to join in.

Sure Walt! I'd be glad to help! Hope this starts the volunteer list! Any time you teach children about outdoor experiences it gives them more options than video games etc! I am glad I was taught to fish ( insert joke here) at a early age.
