Over the past two years the club has shifted away from following the lead of major fishing tournaments to allow the use of multiple lures per line. These major tournament trails recognize the use of these baits detracts from the real “sport” of fishing.
Schooling bass are frenzy feeders and the sight of one bass fighting a line will instinctively trigger others to take notice. Skill in making another cast to the correct position and presenting a bait in a way to generate a strike is not necessary. All that is needed is to have another bait close by when a fish is being fought and the likelihood another fish will strike is increased. This isn’t sporting at all. You’re just taking advantage of animal instinct.
If your interest lies in fishing to win money, I can understand why you think it is perfectly OK to use multiple baits at a time. However, if you fish for the sport, you might agree with me that multiple lures on a single line is simply an attempt to make it easier to catch fish. That’s my problem.
