A SHOUT OUT TO CRAIG GORDON!!
Ian and I launched at Loch Raven on Friday about noon. We found tough conditions....water temp 44 and MUDDY! You would be hard-pressed to find tougher conditions than cold/muddy water when bass fishing.
We started in Schoolhouse and fished for 2 hours without a bite. We decided to try some areas in Hamptons and made the run that direction. As we were running we noticed a familiar face and pulled up to Craig Gordon and started to chat.
We started to compare notes, our 0 to Craig's 6 or so bass. We told Craig that we were struggling to find A fish. What happened next was a class-act by Craig. He began to give us extremely detailed information of how he was catching them stopping just short of tying a rope to my boat and pulling me to the area that was productive for him.
Long story short, we caught 4 bass, 3 pickerel and 1 carp all in the exact area Craig told us he was catching them.
Opening Day on the Loch can be tough and it was. We only had a few hours to catch some fish and Craig's willingness to give tips was a huge factor in making our day somewhat of a success. I guess Craig thinks similar to me that to help another guy out in the early season isn't a NO-NO. Thanks Craig, for your help on Friday.
